Prompt: Write about a conversation that changed you.

The first time I heard about my parents upbringing was the first conversation that significantly changed me. Before my parents told me about their upbringing I hadn’t given it much thought considering I was still in Elementary School. Once I reached Middle School was the first time my parents mentioned their upbringing to me in detail. Hearing about the differences of living in rural Mexico compared to the United States made me realize how fortunate I am to be living here.

Today in Multicultural Literature we worked on familiarizing ourselves with new vocabulary terms for the college bound. Initially, I was only familiar with a few of the words seen in the vocabulary, but now i’m beginning to learn the rest of the vocabulary words. Learning new vocabulary words helps to make people’s writing more convoluted. I am doing good.
